A round up of the sport headlines from UK newspapers on 3 June

Klopp’s new Anfield deal

Liverpool players, staff and fans celebrated the club’s Champions League victory with a huge parade throughout the city on Sunday.

The Reds beat Tottenham 2-0 in the Madrid final and according to The Times and The Guardian manager Jurgen Klopp is set to be rewarded with a new long-term contract at Anfield.

The Daily Mail says that Liverpool’s owners are ready to offer German boss Klopp a salary worth £10m a year.

Meanwhile, captain Jordan Henderson and striker Mohamed Salah both warn that the Merseyside club have their sights set on winning more silverware. The Daily Star’s back page says there’s “Mo limits” now for Liverpool.

Hearn: Joshua may not recover

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn fears that the British boxer may not recover from his shock loss against Andy Ruiz Jr.

Joshua lost his unbeaten record and titles after being stopped in the seventh round by the Mexican in New York. The Daily Star, Mirror and Times report that a rematch clause in the fight contract will be activated.

Hearn said: “Great fighters come back, but some may never be the same. The future will show how Anthony responds. He must win that rematch because there is nothing after that.”
