Today’s back pages: Man Utd fear Paul Pogba exit in January and Carlo Ancelotti agrees £9m-a-year deal with Everton

A round up of the sport headlines from UK newspapers on 20 December

Pogba to pack his bags?

The Daily Mirror reports that Paul Pogba has “almost certainly” played his last match for Manchester United.

Old Trafford bosses are convinced that the French World Cup winner won’t be seen again in a red shirt and is pushing for a move away next month.

Midfielder Pogba was due to return to action this week after missing two months through injury but a mystery illness has further delayed his comeback.

Real Madrid and Juventus have previously been linked with a move for the 26-year-old and he is understood to “still be determined to force his way out” of Old Trafford.

Carlo agrees £9m-a-year Everton deal

The Times says Carlo Ancelotti has agreed terms to become the new manager of Everton.

Italian coach Ancelotti, 60, will sign a £9m-a-season contract at Goodison Park and is expected to watch from the stands when the Toffees take on Arsenal tomorrow (12.30pm, live on BT Sport 1).

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Arsenal are also set to announce Mikel Arteta as their boss today.

The 37-year-old has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal to replace Unai Emery at the Emirates.
