2018-19 Champions League season guide: results and reports

Lucas Moura’s hat-trick against Ajax sent Tottenham Hotspur through to the final against Liverpool in Madrid

The 2019 Uefa Champions League final will be an all-English affair with Tottenham Hotspur taking on Liverpool in Madrid on 1 June.

Brazilian forward Lucas Moura was the Spurs hero after scoring a hat-trick - including an injury-time winner - in a dramatic 3-2 victory against Ajax in the semi-final second leg on Wednesday 8 May.

With the tie finishing 3-3 on aggregate the north London club progress to the final on away goals.

After Liverpool’s miraculous comeback against Barcelona Spurs also had to achieve a miracle. They were 2-0 down at half-time in Amsterdam but Moura’s treble saw them over the line.

Liverpool lost 3-0 away in Barcelona but the Anfield club hit back to win the semi-final second leg 4-0 at Anfield.
