Chelsea join Liverpool in hunt for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Unhappy Arsenal star could be tempted across London, as Blues also target Man City target Dani Alves
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte intends to fight Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool for the hand of wantaway Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, reports Metro.
Stories broke at the weekend suggesting that the Anfield manager was closing in on the Gunners winger after the England forward decided on holiday that his interests would be best served with a move away from the Emirates.
Manchester City are also said to be interested in the pacy 23-year-old, who can operate across the midfield, but Metro says that it is significant that Chelsea have joined the chase and Conte is "exploring the possibility" of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
Manager Antonio Conte is determined to beef up his squad this summer ahead of the club's return to the Champions League and he believes the pace of the Ox, while not properly harnessed by Arsene Wenger, could add an extra dimension to the Blues attack.
According to The Guardian Chelsea are ready to rival Manchester City for the signature of Dani Alves.
The paper claims that the veteran defender "has told Juventus he wants to leave" and although rumours at the weekend linked the 34-year with the Sky Blues, and a reunion with his former Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola, the Guardian claims "discussions are also planned with Chelsea".
Alves, who has one year remaining on his contract at Juventus is "keen" to join City but if they aren't ready to stump up the £5m demanded by the Turin club, that could open the door for a bid from the Blues with Antonio Conte concerned he still lacks a steady hand and a cool head in his back four.
