Meghan Markle’s entourage: who’s who

Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 11-strong team includes a celebrity hairstylist and two private secretaries

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed in Dublin on Tuesday for a two-day tour - joined by an impressive entourage.

The royal couple are attending a series of events in the Irish Republic’s capital, including a Gaelic sports festival at Croke Park, the home of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Their trip also includes a visit to Trinity College, to see and learn about the Book of Kells, one of Ireland’s most important cultural treasures.

But while the cameras will be focused on Meghan and Harry, their dedicated behind-the-scenes team will be working hard to make sure everything runs smoothly.

The 11-strong royal entourage includes celebrity hairdresser George Northwood, who has styled the likes of Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. He will be on hand to “work his magic on Meghan’s brunette locks” throughout the trip, reports the Daily Mail.

The Duchess will get further support from her private secretary, Amy Pickerill, who joined the newlywed last month on her first joint engagement with the Queen, in Cheshire.

Pickerill previously worked for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as part of their media team, and is believed to have been chosen by Harry to be his wife’s aide, according to the newpaper.

Harry’s private secretary, Ed Lane Fox, is also in the Dublin entourage, and is said to have been helping Meghan navigate royal protocol. Lane Fox has been in the job since 2013, and reportedly played a key role in the run-up to the couple’s engagement announcement last November. However, he is expected to leave the royal household soon, with Pickerill tipped to take his place.

According to Hello! magazine, the other team members comprise the couple’s advisor Sir David Manning, Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf, a PA, and a media team including press officers Ciara Berry and Emily Rosselli and a digital media photographer.
