Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reveal their favourite Disney films

Duke and Duchess of Sussex named two animated classics when questioned by children at charity event

As an American who married a British prince, life may feel a bit like a Disney film to Meghan Markle.

And this week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed which Disney movies they hold most dear, as they met with children at the annual WellChild Awards, in London.

According to People magazine, one of the award winners, ten-year-old Chloe Henderson, “boldly asked” the royal couple a “very important question”: what’s your favorite Disney film?

Harry revealed that he loved The Lion King, while Meghan replied that she had “always loved The Little Mermaid”.

“Yeah, those choices sound about right,” says New York City-based online magazine Bustle. “First of all, how many times as Harry been to Africa? He’s done a lot of philanthropic work there, in addition to promoting animal activism... it’s no wonder Harry prefers The Lion King.”

During the awards ceremony, on Tuesday, Harry also revealed that he liked animated features Zootopia and Moana, and recalled the moment in the latter “when the chicken [Heihei] comes up and finds himself out at sea in a boat”.

The site adds that Harry isn’t the only royal who loves The Lion King. Prince William revealed last year that the 1994 film is also one of Prince George’s favorites.

“We’ve watched that a few times,” William said at the time.
