Euro 2016: Ball boy photobombs Cristiano Ronaldo and co

In case there was ever any doubt about who the majority of fans have gone to France to watch over the last month, Wednesday night cleared it up when Cristiano Ronaldo was asked for his second on-pitch selfie by someone who, really, shouldn't have been there at all.

A particularly brave ball boy edged his way slowly towards the Real Madrid star as Portugal lined up for their pre-match photo ahead of their semi-final clash against Wales. The youngster tried to sneak into the side of the shot - and it sort of worked, until goalkeeper Rui Patricio noticed him and started laughing.

He wasn't even close to finished though, getting a hug from a delighted Ronaldo before chasing after the 31-year-old to beg for a selfie. Just in case he'd blinked in the team photo, perhaps?

It clearly wasn't too distracting for Ronaldo, although even he probably isn't quite so attention-hungry that he welcomes fans ambushing him on-pitch. The player scored his side's first goal with a towering header in the 2-0 win to help Portugal into their first final since 2004.

The country has never won a major international football tournament – so there might be just the one or two more people rushing the pitch if they pull off an upset on Sunday night.
