Transfer news and rumours: David Luiz, Eden Hazard, Lucas Moura
A round-up of the latest transfer gossip from the world’s football media
David Luiz: Chelsea to Arsenal
According to the Daily Star, Chelsea will offer Brazilian defender David Luiz to Arsenal as part of the deal to bring Olivier Giroud to Stamford Bridge. Arsenal have agreed to pay Borussia Dortmund £60million for Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng, Sky Sports reports. Once that deal is in place, Giroud could head to Chelsea and Michy Batshuayi will go to Dortmund. For Chelsea to secure Giroud’s signature, the offer of Luiz ‘holds the key’ says the Star.
Fernando Llorente: Tottenham to Chelsea
Chelsea’s search for a target man has been well documented with Edin Dzeko and Olivier Giroud both on their wishlist. The Sun says that if Chelsea are unable to sign Giroud from Arsenal, they will once again turn their attentions to Fernando Llorente. The Spaniard was a target for the Blues before he signed for Tottenham last summer.
Eden Hazard: Chelsea to Manchester City
The Daily Telegraph reports that Chelsea will refuse any bids from Manchester City for Eden Hazard – even if it’s a world record amount. Real Madrid are also interested in the Belgian attacker but Chelsea hope that Hazard will sign a new contract worth £300,000-a-week.
Emre Can: Liverpool to Juventus
Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the Italian club are confident they will sign Liverpool’s Emre Can on a free transfer in the summer. The German midfielder, 24, is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and is stalling on signing an extension says the Daily Mail.
Daniel Sturridge: Liverpool to West Brom (confirmed)
Daniel Sturridge has joined West Brom on loan for the rest of the season. The England striker told Liverpool’s official website: “This felt like the right fit. I’ve got friends here I’ve played with before, the manager spoke very well, the challenge with the team and the style of play… I just felt this was the right fit for me.”
Gerard Deulofeu: Barcelona to Watford (confirmed)
Another loan deal to be confirmed is Gerard Deulofeu to Watford. The Barcelona winger, who previously played in the Premier League for Everton, signs on loan until 30 June. A Hornets statement said: “Watford FC is delighted to confirm the loan signing of forward Gerard Deulofeu from FC Barcelona until the end of the season. Deulofeu is eligible to play a part against Stoke City on Wednesday evening having completed his move before Tuesday’s midday deadline.”
Lucas Moura: Paris Saint-Germain to Tottenham
Spurs have agreed to pay £25m for Paris Saint-Germain star Lucas Moura. Sky Sports sources say that Moura is in London to finalise the move subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Badou Ndiaye: Galatasaray to Stoke City
Senegal international Badou Ndiaye looks set to sign for Stoke City from the Turkish club Galatasaray. Sky Sports News understands that Stoke have agreed a £15m fee for the midfielder, but before he travels to England to discuss personal terms and take a medical he must gain a visa to enter the UK.
