F1: Lewis Hamilton Ferrari move predicted by Top Gear presenter Reid
Vettel confident of title chances and only the British GP will be shown on free-to-air TV in the UK in 2019
Reid tips Hamilton to win the title… at Ferrari
Ferrari have announced their driver line-up for 2019 and now the Italian Formula 1 team are being tipped to make another sensational move for 2020.
Next season Charles Leclerc replaces Kimi Raikkonen as Sebastian Vettel’s teammate but according to Top Gear presenter Rory Reid he does not believe the Vettel-Leclerc partnership will last that long.
Writing on Twitter, Reid said: “Hot take: Leclerc beats Vettel. Vettel leaves Ferrari for a ‘new challenge’. Ferrari sign Hamilton for £200 million. Hamilton delivers Ferrari’s first driver championship in over a decade.”
Vettel confident he can overtake Hamilton
Before 2020 is discussed there’s the small matter of this season’s F1 title race to play for. Ahead of this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel is 30 points behind champion Lewis Hamilton, however, the Ferrari ace still believes he can catch his title rival.
Quoted by The National in the UAE, Vettel said: “I think we have the pace. The points sound a lot, but actually it doesn’t take a long time to get them down.”
Including Singapore there are seven races left in the 2018 F1 season.
UK F1 fans ‘fume’ over 2019 TV coverage
The Daily Express reports that only one race in the 2019 F1 season will be shown on free-to-air TV in the UK - and fans are not happy at the decision.
Channel 4 will only show the British GP live in 2019, compared to the ten races it currently broadcasts.
It has been announced that from 2019 Sky Sports will continue to show live coverage from every grand prix while Channel 4 will show highlights of the 20 other races.
