Figures published this week revealed that UK households are experiencing the worst economic crunch across the G7 countries.

Britain’s consumer price inflation hit 10.1% in the year to July, an increase that “exceeded economists’ expectations” and “highlights the difficult task” that the Bank of England will now face in attempting to tackle the crisis, said the Financial Times.
