Man leaves $5m to his dog
And other stories from the stranger side of life
A man has left $5m to his eight-year-old border collie, Lulu. Tennessee businessman Bill Dorris specified that the sum should be placed in a trust to provide for Lulu’s care. Lulu is “a good girl”, said a friend of Dorris. Hotelier Leona Helmsley left $12m to her dogs after she died in 2007 and actress Lauren Bacall left $10,000 for care of her dog.
Couple bound by love
A couple have chained themselves together for three months as a test of their love for one another. Alexander and Viktoria chose Valentine’s Day to begin the process. On the way home from their chaining ceremony, they had to choose whether to jointly use the male or female toilets at a roadside café. They chose the latter. Alexander explained: “There is a chain on us, and all the links are welded.”
