As the mask debate rages, a woman shopping at a Pick n Pay supermarket in South Africa has come up with an inventive response. When she was confronted by a store employee for failing to wear a mask, she reached under her dress, removed her knickers and slipped them over her head to cover her mouth and nose.

Mum makes seven-year-old pay bills

A mother has revealed that she makes her seven-year-old daughter do chores to earn cash so that she can pay her own bills and learn about money management. Speaking on the TikTok app, the mother said: “Every week my daughter has a list of chores. If those chores were completed daily she will get $7 at the end of the week.” Five dollars goes on household bills and the girl is allowed to keep two dollars to save or spend.

Motorhome owner lives with hearse

A funeral hearse, a child’s bike and a weights machine are among the items to have been hoarded under a motorway bridge by a man who has lived there for months. The motorhome owner has set up a living space beneath the M65 in Darwen, Lancashire, complete with a beer keg, a wheelchair, a BMW car and a child's bike. A local councillor said: “If he's not breaking any laws then there's not much we can do, to be honest.”
