Members of a South Pacific tribe that considers Prince Philip a deity have expressed confidence that he will now return. In Tanna, part of a South Pacific Ocean archipelago made up of 80 islands, the Yaohnanen tribe have long believed the duke was born in their homeland and is “the true messiah”. They also believe he influenced world events and was responsible for Barack Obama becoming president. Now, they believe he will return to them in spirit form.
Time traveller reveals when the world will end
A time traveller on TikTok has revealed the date on which the world will end. The account named @thatonetimetraveler told followers: “The end of Earth is on July 6th 2788, from a gigantic meteroid [sic]. However, by that time we have successfully managed to civilize on Mars, the Moon, and many other planets.” Not everyone was convinced by the revelation. “No one knows the day and hour and year,” one user replied. “God only knows that.”
Fart fine reduced on appeal
An Austrian man who was fined €500 (£425) for loudly farting near police officers has had his fine reduced to €100 (£85) after an appeal. The man received the punishment after “offending public decency” by “farting provocatively” at police last summer. At the appeal hearing, he told the court that breaking wind was a “biological process” and even if he had done it deliberately, his fart was covered by freedom of expression.
