Boris Johnson’s much anticipated cabinet reshuffle finally took place this week, leaving some of his top team with a lot to celebrate this weekend - while others have been left out in the cold.

The big winner was Liz Truss, who has been promoted to foreign secretary after impressing the prime minister in her role in the Department of International Trade. Michael Gove and Nadhim Zahawi also have new roles in the cabinet, while Dominic Raab and Gavin Williamson were demoted following a series of blunders from both.

The newly rejigged government is now gearing up for the national rollout of Covid booster jabs, after the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation advised that all over-50s should be offered a third dose, as part of the winter plan for managing Covid.
