Insulate Britain activists delayed a lorry belonging to an insulation company. The green HGV – emblazoned with the word ‘Insulation’ in large white letters – was held up by activists who glued themselves to roads in Westminster. TheDaily Mail noted that “the irony is that Insulate Britain’s whole mantra revolves around demanding that Prime Minister Boris Johnson fast-tracks plans to insulate UK homes”.
‘World’s biggest potato’ unearthed
A 7.9kg potato that was discovered in a New Zealand couple’s overgrown garden may set a new world record for the largest of its kind. Colin and Donna Craig-Brown were weeding their back yard in Hamilton when they discovered the titanic tater. The current Guinness world record holder is a 2011 colossus found in Britain, which weighed in at just under 5kg.
‘Human burgers’ on the menu
A company in Sweden has created a burger that tastes like “human flesh” as part of a temporary offer. Punters were given the chance to discover what they may taste like after the Human Meat Burger was launched by Oumph. The plant-based company said it launched the promotion to encourage people to eat more vegan food. One potential customer described the campaign as little more than “satanic filth”.
