Man kicked off flight for wearing woman’s thong as mask
And other stories from the stranger side of life
A man has been removed from a flight in the US for wearing women’s underwear as a Covid-19 face mask. In a video shared widely online, Adam Jenne can be seen wearing a pink thong over his face as he sits in his seat before the flight from Fort Lauderdale to Washington. A flight attendant is heard telling him: “You’re going to have to come off the plane. We’re not going to let you travel.” He has, however, insisted that he met the conditions of United Airlines which states that masks should fully cover the mouth and nose.
Woman finds prisoner’s ID in coat
A woman was shocked when she discovered the ID of a prisoner from China in the lining of her newly purchased coat. After she bought the garment from a UK fashion firm that is thought to outsource its inventory to China, the 24-year-old woman from Norwich said: “This could be a call for help by a slave labourer.” Amnesty International has urged the UK government to “consider making due diligence mandatory for national companies operating abroad”.
Huge arthropods once roamed England
Huge millipedes the length of cars once lived in northern England, a chance fossil discovery has revealed. The specimen was found by three Cambridge scientists who were visiting geological formations on a northern beach. They spotted the remains of the largest-known invertebrate animal of all time — a 2.7m millipede called arthropleura that lived 326 million years ago. “It’s certainly the biggest arthropod fossil — full stop — in the world,” said one.
