And other stories from the stranger side of life
Andy Warhol’s silkscreen portrait of Marilyn Monroe has sold for $195m at auction – a new record for a work by an American artist. Shot Sage Blue Marilyn, which is one of pop art’s best-known pieces, was sold by Christie’s at an auction in New York, reported Sky News. The work is “the absolute pinnacle of American pop”, said Alex Rotter, the chairman of 20th and 21st century art at Christie’s.
Couple live full-time on cruise ships

Richard and Angelyn Burk told 7Life that they “really enjoy cruising and being able to visit different parts of the world without hopping on an airplane”. The Burks calculated that they could live the rest of their lives hopping from cruise ship to cruise ship for as little as $62 each a day. “We don’t plan to permanently live on land in the future,” they said.
