Message in a bottle tells English tourists in Wales to ‘piss off’

A letter that reportedly washed up in a bottle on beach at a popular tourist spot in Wales has told visitors to “piss off”. The message, said to have been discovered by a dog-walker on Pwllheli beach in North Wales, described tourists as “fat bastards” and told English visitors to “piss off”. Locals suspect that it was penned by a child or teenager, NorthWalesLive reported. A local resident said: “I’m English and lived for a number of years in North Wales and never ever experienced hostility.”

Skeleton sale sign of ‘dinomania’

A rare ancient dinosaur skeleton has been sold in the US for just over $6m (£5m). The fossil of a Gorgosaurus - a distant relative of the infamous and deadly Tyrannosaurus rex - was auctioned at Sotheby’s natural history auction in New York City. Gregory M. Erickson, a professor of anatomy and vertebrate paleobiology at Florida State University, told the BBC that the sale “sends a message that it’s just any other commodity that you can buy for money” and is a by-product of a “dinomania” society.

Cat museum takes over couple’s life

A US couple have turned their collection of more than 13,000 cat figurines and feline-related pieces of art into a “mewseum” to raise money for shelter cats, reported UPI. Shawn Redner and Hilary Siegel-Redner have converted the basement of their Wisconsin home into the museum. The couple first started collecting cat figurines in 2018 and now seek out new pieces every weekend. “This is all we do. This museum has taken over my life,” Redner told local media.
