Whisky’s ingredients can keep your skin healthy, according to a new study. The spirit’s by-products can be used in skincare products to boost the skin’s appearance by “reducing inflammation and puffiness, soothing redness and battling free radical damage from the environment”, said Sky News. The researchers at Robert Gordon University’s School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, Aberdeen, discovered that pot ale provides antioxidant benefits in skincare.
Ancient road discovered in Devon
Archaeologists have uncovered evidence of an ancient road, Bronze Age homes and Roman farmsteads on the site of a new town in Devon. The investigators have discovered the area was a “key route” for human communities thousands of years ago. The discovery “showcases ancient construction methods”, said Plymouth Live. Last year, the same team revealed that they had found “Ice Age megafauna” including mammoth, rhino and wolf remains.
Man charged £666 for a burger and chips
A man who was accidentally charged £666.50 for a burger and chips said the mistake still hasn’t been rectified a month on. Toby Wilson, 35, was charged the surprising sum for a takeaway on the way home from a night out in York in December. When he discovered the error, he told the Daily Star, he approached the owner of Efe’s Kebab Kitchen in York and was told take it up with his bank. The owner told a local paper he wanted Wilson to talk to his bank for safety reasons, adding: “This is the legal way.”
