A family says their relative survived the Titanic and the Lusitania disasters. British sailor George Beauchamp escaped the sinking Titanic in 1912, and his family believe he was also onboard the Lusitania when it was torpedoed three years later, which would make only person to survive the worst maritime disasters of the 20th century.

After surviving the sinking of the Lusitania, he is said to have told relatives: “I have had enough of large ships - I'm going to work on smaller boats.”
