A petition has been launched for Smeaton’s Tower in Plymouth to be fired into space and landed on the moon. It says the move would put the Devon city on the map: “We are the city that bought you Tom Daley, the guy that started The Range and the woman that plays Pat from Eastenders. Dare to Dream Plymouth, dare to go where no humans have ever been before. Dare to Moon.”
Men twice as emotional as women at work
Men are twice as emotional as women at work, according to a new study. Researchers quizzed 2,000 UK workers and 250 managers and found that men are more emotional in the workplace than women, but women are more likely to experience stress and frustration whilst on the job. “Men are more likely to report experiencing emotions associated with power, such as anger or pride,” said a researcher.
‘Alien’ ring cloud hovers over Lahore
A black ring-shaped cloud that hovered over the skies above Lahore, Pakistan, has been hailed as a sign of aliens. Others speculated that it might be a huge smoke ring, from a puffing giant. However, one Twitter user thought there was a less bizarre explanation. He wrote: “That’s a ring of smoke caused by an explosion, pyrotechnic test, fireworks, etc.”
