An Australian doctor has addressed the question of whether the new coronavirus can be spread through flatulence. Speaking on an Australian Broadcasting Corporation podcast, Dr Norman Swan advised: “Don’t fart close to other people, and... don’t fart with your bottom bare.” There is no published data to prove that wind can spread the new virus, but as comedian Stephen Colbert says “I’m hoping that’s pretty much always the advice.”
Minister caught swearing about colleague on Zoom
The Welsh Health Minister Vaughan Gething was left red-faced when he was overheard being rude about a colleague during a Zoom meeting. Speaking about Welsh Assembly member Jenny Rathbone, he said: “What the f**k is the matter with her?” He later apologised on Twitter and admitted: “I’m obviously embarrassed.”
Runner does 62 miles in laps around his bed
A Russian runner who spent nine months training for a race, only to have it called off, ran at home by doing laps around his bed for a total distance of 62 miles. Dmitry Yakukhny had been expecting to compete in a 155-mile race through the desert in Morocco, but the event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
