A man in Colorado won two $1m Powerball jackpots in a single day after playing the same numbers for 30 years. Colorado Lottery officials said of the unnamed double-winner: “Joe B likes to play one play of his own numbers, and a couple more plays with Quick Picks.” When asked how he and his wife plan to spend the win, the lucky player said: “The Boss has plans for it.”
News anchor in hot water over mystery woman
A news anchor in Spain has been accused of cheating on his girlfriend after viewers spotted a semi-naked woman strolling behind him as he filmed a live segment from home. Alfonso Merlos later apologised, saying: “If you think that my attitude has not been correct or that there are things that I have not done well, I have no problem asking for forgiveness, although my goal was not to harm someone else.”
Emu found loose in Washington state
An emu has been found wandering loose in Washington state. The authorities said a group of disc golfers spotted the bird while they were playing at High Bridge Park in Spokane. The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service are now looking after the bird and are appealing to the owner to come and collect it.
