Teen's efforts to woe girl end in hospital

A Russian teenager has survived falling 23 storeys from a balcony while trying to impress a girl. The 16-year-old reportedly had tried to swing from the guardrail of the balcony but lost his grip and dropped 230ft. He landed on a parked Renault Logan, which cushioned some of the blow. He was rushed to hospital suffering from a bruised abdomen and lung, a tear in his liver and a broken shoulder. The boy is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Riding rollercoasters 'cure' for kidney stones

Riding rollercoasters can help people suffering from kidney stones, say two US researchers. The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is particularly good at providing the new "therapy", according to Dr David Wartinger, of Michigan State University. He added that bungee jumping has also been known to assist with dislodging kidney stones.

Woman walks in on burglars having sex

A woman walked into her Memphis home to find two burglars having sex on her couch. "It's horrible in there," said Jamie Barnes. "It's absolutely horrible in there. It's like they just had a big old nasty party." Barnes, who had been away from her home for a few days, reportedly chased the pair out of the house with a broom. The burglers had already ransacked the house and removed most of her possessions.
