Moving company gets housebound
A moving company has come under fire after it abandoned a house in the middle of a street in Texas. The house, which was being transported to a new location in Austin, reportedly became stuck after being snagged by power lines on Saturday, forcing the company to leave it behind. It couldn't be moved until the business owner obtained the necessary permits to alter the structure so it could fit down the narrow street.
Man fires shot at woman 'mistaken for clown'
A man is facing weapons charges for reportedly shooting at a woman walking her dog, because he mistook her for a clown. Adam Tingle, of Kentucky, told police he had been spooked by the spate of "killer clown" sightings around the US and believed the woman to be one. He has been charged with second-degree wanton endangerment. The woman and dog were unharmed.
Woman steals wallet from ambulance
New Jersey police say a woman has been charged with stealing the wallet of a medic, shortly after her boyfriend was fatally struck by a car. According to police reports, Brittany Carulli took the wallet, which contained debit and credit cards, and $120 (£94) in cash from the centre console of the ambulance while the medic was trying, unsuccessfully, to save her boyfriend's life.
