'Runaway' giant tortoise found 200 yards away

A giant tortoise which made a break for freedom from a Japanese zoo has been found, two weeks after the escape, just 200 yards from the zoo. The 35-year-old female, named Abuh, escaped from the Shibukawa Animal Park, where keepers had allowed her to wander freely among the zoo's grounds.

Chinese and Indian troops 'throw stones' at each other

Chinese and Indian military forces have clashed in a disputed region of the Himalayas, with troops from China reportedly pelting Indian soldiers with stones. "There was a minor incident," a local official told AFP. "There was some stone pelting from the Chinese side but the situation was quickly brought under control."

Teen donkey rapists treated for rabies

Up to 15 teenagers from rural Morocco have been treated for rabies after reportedly having sex with an infected donkey, according to local media outlet Al-Akhbar. Officials fear more individuals may have been infected but will not seek treatment for fear of being ostracised.
