Real Madrid offer Spurs the chance to re-sign Gareth Bale on loan

Premier League transfer news and rumours

Bale offered to Spurs

Real Madrid are desperate to offload Gareth Bale and have offered former club Tottenham Hotspur the chance to sign him on loan for £10m.

The Sun reports that Real are “willing to take a huge hit” on the Welshman’s wages and would subsidise half of his pay.

Spurs are not the only club linked with the 29-year-old. The Daily Mail, citing information from French newspaper Le Parisien, says Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a £180m move to sign Real trio Bale, Toni Kroos and Isco.

Pep’s summer spending spree

Despite the possibility of a one-season ban from the Uefa Champions League Manchester City are plotting a £200m spending spree to strengthen their squad over the summer. City boss Pep Guardiola is particularly keen to sign Atletico Madrid central midfielder Rodri and Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt, while the Spaniard is also tracking Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic and teenage Benfica sensation Joao Felix. United clear-out: Pogba to go?

Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra believes the Old Trafford club will have a squad clear-out this summer and expects under-fire midfielder Paul Pogba to exit. Evra said: “I think [Pogba] will leave, because you need to feel the love when you play somewhere, you need to be committed.” (Sky Sports

Dybala and Alexis to swap?

Among the players that could leave Manchester United is forward Alexis Sanchez. Reports suggest that United want to strike a deal with Juventus that would see Alexis move to Turin and Paulo Dybala head to Old Trafford. Other names linked with United today include Adrien Rabiot, Daniel James, Nicolas Pepe and Kalidou Koulibaly.

Hazard set for Real

Metro’s back page headline says that Eden Hazard is “out the door” at Chelsea after the Europa League final clash against Arsenal in Baku. Hazard will be announced as a Real Madrid player after the 29 May final. See today’s newspaper back pages here.

Mahrez ‘very happy’ at Man City

Riyad Mahrez has only started 14 Premier League games in his first season at Manchester City but the former Leicester winger insists he is very happy at the Etihad. The Algerian said: “It is not easy to come to a team who are settled, who have players who play. That squad did everything last season. I am very happy here. I am not going somewhere else because I don’t play. It’s part of the game. I need to be strong, stay strong. It’s part of my personality, I never hide away from things.” (Sky Sports)

Spurs eye Sessegnon

Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham. The relegated Cottagers want £40m for the 18-year-old but Spurs want to pay £25m. (Daily Mail

Werner could make Anfield move

RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has hinted that striker Timo Werner could move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool this summer. The 23-year-old is linked with Bayern Munich but Mintzlaff said: “Maybe he doesn’t even want to go to Munich. Maybe he would rather join [Thomas] Tuchel in Paris, Klopp at Liverpool or [Lucien] Favre at Dortmund.” (Liverpool Echo

Ozil wants to stay

Mesut Ozil has two years left on his Arsenal contract and the German midfielder expects to see the deal through. He has been linked with the Emirates exit but in response to a question about his future he said: “I don’t think there’s a chance of that [leaving] to be honest. I’ve got two more years here and what happens afterwards is not in my hands. We’ll see then, but I’m proud to be at this club and really happy at this club.” (Daily Mirror/DAZN Dach)
