Premier League transfer news and rumours

De Gea to PSG?

David de Gea could be on his way out of Manchester United after the Spanish goalkeeper reportedly rejected the club’s final contract offer.

The Sun says that De Gea has “made it clear” that he will not extend his deal beyond next season and his decision is “piling pressure on Old Trafford chiefs to sell him this summer”.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the 28-year-old and could plan a £60m bid in the current window. Or they could wait until next year to land him on a free transfer.

Captain Pogba

Sources have told ESPN that Manchester United will offer Paul Pogba the club captaincy in an effort to convince the midfielder to stay at Old Trafford. The Frenchman has been linked with Real Madrid.

Solskjaer wants Rakitic

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is a target for Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. La Liga champions Barca are willing to sell the Croatian international but they value the 31-year-old at €55m (£48.3m). (Daily Express

Varane staying at Real

Another La Liga star recently linked with Manchester United is Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane. However, the French defender says he is staying at the Bernabeu. He said: “I am going to remain [at Real Madrid] next season as I’m sure that we’re going to respond in a strong manner.” (Marca)

Triple whammy for Arsenal

Arsenal face losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny before long if they don’t sign new contracts. The trio could follow Aaron Ramsey out of the Emirates door if the Gunners don’t tie them down to fresh deals. See the latest Arsenal transfer news here

Fight for Felix

Reds have 12 on their list

Liverpool are looking to bolster their attack and the Anfield club have drawn up a target list of 12 players. Benfica’s Joao Felix is on the list along with Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser, Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech and Lille’s Nicolas Pepe. (Daily Mail

Benitez eyes Mata

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is lining up an ambitious move for Juan Mata. The Manchester United midfielder is out of contract this summer and would be available on a free transfer. Barcelona are also keen on the 31-year-old. (The Sun

Cech returning to Chelsea

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech retires this summer and according to reports he is expected to return to Chelsea as their new sporting director. The news provides Arsenal with a problem. Cech’s final game as a Gunner will be against Chelsea in next week’s Uefa Europa League final. Could Bernd Leno now be set to start in between the sticks in Baku? (Sky Sports

Schubert to replace Cech?

With Petr Cech retiring Arsenal will be in the market for a back-up goalkeeper. The Gunners are linked with a move for Dynamo Dresden and Germany Under-21 keeper Markus Schubert on a free transfer. (Bild)
