Premier League transfer gossip and rumours

United’s double Spurs swoop?

Manchester United could go shopping in north London this summer if goalkeeper David de Gea and midfielder Paul Pogba leave Old Trafford.

The Daily Mirror reports that De Gea could be offered a £20m “golden handshake” to depart for Paris Saint-Germain and on United’s target list to replace the Spaniard is French stopper Huge Lloris.

The Sun says World Cup winner Lloris is United’s “main alternative” if De Gea signs for PSG.

Meanwhile, the Sun adds that United have reportedly “opened talks” with Real Madrid over a deal for Pogba and the London Evening Standard reports that Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen and Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans are being considered as replacements.

Denmark star Eriksen has said he may want a new challenge and has been linked with Real Madrid.

Rooney: United must sign potential

Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes that Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should sign younger players instead of established superstars. United’s record goal-scorer Rooney said: “For Ole, I think the first thing he’s got to do is try and build the squad. I don’t think bringing one or two players in for over £100m is going to really help with the squad and the players who are there.” (ESPN)

Ronaldo asks De Ligt to join Juve

Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has asked him to move to Juventus. After facing Portugal’s Ronaldo in the Uefa Nations League final Netherlands defender De Ligt was approached by the superstar striker. De Ligt said: “I didn’t understand him at first. I was a little shocked, so I laughed, but I didn’t say anything.” The 19-year-old has also been linked with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool. Blues eye Bailey

Chelsea have “revived interest” in Bayer Leverkusen and Jamaica star Leon Bailey. However, the Stamford Bridge club must wait to see if their transfer ban appeal is successful before moving for the £80m-valued winger. (Daily Mail)

Hammers plan spending spree

West Ham United have made “further enquiries” with Celta Vigo over striker Maxi Gomez and midfielder Stanislav Lobotka. The Hammers are also linked with Fulham’s Aleksander Mitrovic and Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan. (Daily Mail)

Felix future

Manchester rivals City and United are battling to sign Benfica’s Joao Felix. The 19-year-old is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Europe and has also been linked with Real Madrid and Juventus. United are reportedly in discussions to sign Felix, but according to reports City have stepped up their pursuit by offering the Portuguese forward a £26m deal.
