Man Utd plan new year bid for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho

Premier League transfer gossip and rumours

January bid for Jadon

Manchester United are going to go all-out to prise Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in January.

The Sun claims that United are preparing a “£100m war chest to help their bid for Champions League football” and apparently Sancho is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dream signing.

With the £75m made on the sale of Romelu Lukaku, the Red Devils are rolling in cash and will use the funds to launch a new year bid for the teenage winger.

Dortmund have this week let it be known they have hiked up the 19-year-old’s wages to £190,000-a-week but that may still not be enough to secure the Englishman’s loyalty if United come calling.

“The money is certainly there and Ole knows that,” a source told the Sun. “Everyone knows January is always a difficult market but if it’s the difference between keeping United in the top-four mix, the owners won’t hesitate to back the manager.”

Sanchez setback

Manchester United may have to fork out if want to finally get shot of flop Alexis Sanchez, with the Daily Mail saying it could cost the club £36m to get the Chilean striker off their books.

Inter Milan are ready to sign him on a one-year loan but the Italians “only want to pay him £150,000-a-week if they sign him permanently”, meaning United will have to cough up the remainder of his contract - worth £36m.

Trabzonspor sign Sturridge

Turkish top-flight side Trabzonspor have confirmed the signing of former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge on a three-year deal, reports BBC Sport

The 29-year-old ex-England frontman was released by the Reds in the summer and despite allegedly receiving numerous offers, he’s plumped for six-time Turkish champions Trabzonspor, who are captained by former Bayern Munich and AC Milan midfielder Jose Sosa.

According to reports he’ll earn £27,000-a-week at his new club.

Reds eye Havertz

Liverpool have joined Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign Kai Havertz next summer, reports the Daily Express

The 20-year-old Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is one of the most exciting talents in the Bundesliga, netting 20 goals and collecting seven assists in 42 matches last season.

That form has brought him to the attention of Europe’s big-hitters and German TV station Sport1 claim that Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp is an ardent admirer.

However, Bayern Munich remain favourites to land Havertz as they look to rebuild their squad following a spate of recent retirements.

Lovren to Leverkusen?

While Liverpool eye Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz the German club are reportedly keen on Reds defender Dejan Lovren.

The 30-year-old is out of favour at Anfield and Bild reports that Leverkusen could make a move after the Croatian failed to secure a transfer to AS Roma.

Bakayoko blocked by Blues

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has reportedly blocked Tiemoue Bakayoko’s proposed loan move to his old club Monaco, reports the Daily Mirror.

Why? Because she is wants to recoup the bulk of the £40m that the Blues paid for the Frenchman when he arrived from Monaco in 2017.

He’s been a spectacular flop at the Bridge, and apparently Granovskaia believes the Ligue 1 outfit haven’t the status to allow Bakayoko to thrive, “and therefore Chelsea will be unable to sell him for a large fee in the future”.
