Neymar and Mbappe wanted: PSG stars linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City

Premier League clubs and Euro giants are keeping tabs on the Paris pair

Europe’s top clubs are reportedly keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain star strikers Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

According to the Daily Mirror, via French publication Le Parisien, Premier League leaders Liverpool are one of six clubs being linked with Neymar and are “regularly sounding out his agent over the prospect of a transfer move”.

It’s not just the Brazilian forward who Liverpool have their eye on in Paris. The Mirror says the Reds are “actively monitoring” Neymar and his team-mate Mbappe and are “keeping in touch with their entourages”.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City are also reportedly interested in the PSG duo, along with Italian champions Juventus and Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Klopp kills Mbappe story

Champions League holders Liverpool have been regularly linked with French World Cup winner Mbappe, but in a recent interview Jurgen Klopp quashed speculation about a move for the 20-year-old.

“OK, from a sporting point of view, there are not a lot of reasons to not sign Mbappe, what a player he is,” said Liverpool boss Klopp. “But it is about the money of course. No chance. Absolutely no chance, sorry for killing that story.

“I don’t think there is a club in the world that can buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG. And we are involved in that too. We cannot do it, it is as easy as that.

“We have nothing [more] to say about it to be honest, but [buying] this calibre of player is difficult.”

Contract talks

Spanish newspaper Marca reports that PSG are keen to extend Mbappe’s contract but the striker has shown “no intention of putting pen to paper”.

Mbappe’s contract with PSG ends in 2022 and the club’s new sporting director Leonardo has made it clear contact has been made to renew the deal.

Despite question marks over Mbappe’s future the French giants are not interested in selling their prize asset, especially with Neymar’s exit a possibility.

Real Madrid have made no secret of their wish to sign Mbappe and are waiting to make their move.

Neymar on the market... next summer

Marca also reports that Neymar has a “truce” with PSG that will see the Brazilian stay in France until the end of the season. Only then will the Ligue 1 giants consider offers for the 27-year-old.

Last summer he was linked with a return to Spain with former club Barca and the Catalans’s rivals Real

PSG are “desperate” to keep hold of Mbappe, but the situation with Neymar is different and they could listen to offers in the region of €180m (£151m).
