Real chase Chelsea stars
The Daily Mail reports that Real Madrid have bid £100m for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and playmaker Willian.
According to sources in Spain Real have made Belgium stopper Courtois their No.1 goalkeeping target after missing out on Alisson, who signed for Liverpool. The European champions are also hoping to sign Brazilian Willian, who was a target for Real’s rivals Barcelona.
The Mail understands that Real’s £100m offer for the pair is being “seriously considered” by Chelsea. ESPN adds that Real have “turned their attention” to Willian instead of his Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard.
Everton to offer Pickford new deal
Last week it was reported that Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was being lined up by Chelsea to replace Madrid-bound Courtois. But after impressing at the World Cup with England, Everton will aim to keep Pickford at Goodison Park by offering the 24-year-old a “new, improved contract”. (Sky Sports)
Luiz wants to stay at Chelsea
Chelsea defender David Luiz is happy at Stamford Bridge and is looking forward to playing under new boss Maurizio Sarri. The 31-year-old struggled for first-team action last season but has played in Sarri’s pre-season line-ups. Luiz said: “I came back to Chelsea to stay. When I took my decision to come back here from Paris it was to win the Premier League. I am very happy here – I love Sarri’s philosophy.” (Sky Sports)
Blues target Arsenal star Ramsey
Chelsea are preparing a £30m bid for Arsenal and Wales star Aaron Ramsey. The midfielder’s contract expires next summer but Arsenal boss Unai Emery is confident the 27-year-old will stay at the Emirates. (The Daily Telegraph)
Bale ‘not realistic’ for Spurs
