Premier League transfer news and rumours

Salah turns down Champions League holders

It’s reported in Spain that Real Madrid approached Liverpool about the possibility of signing star striker Mohamed Salah.

With Cristiano Ronaldo going to Juventus, Real’s search for their next Galactico focused on Egyptian forward Salah, who scored 44 goals in his debut campaign at Anfield last season.

The Daily Star, via Spanish outlet El Pais, says that “Salah’s representatives were contacted by the Champions League holders over a move”. But the 26-year-old quashed any speculation over his future by signing a new five-year contract with Liverpool at the start of June.

Robert Lewandowski: Bayern Munich to Chelsea/Real Madrid

Chelsea hope to beat Real Madrid to the signing of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski. The German champions don’t want to sell the 29-year-old but the Poland captain wishes to leave after scoring 106 goals in 126 games. New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has made £80m-rated Lewandowski his top target, but time is running out before the transfer window closes on 9 August. (Daily Star)

Wilfried Zaha: Crystal Palace to Tottenham/Chelsea

Tottenham have not given up on signing Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha. It’s reported that Spurs are “on a mission to land Zaha for a cut-price £45m”. Palace have already turned down Chelsea’s offer of £30m plus midfielder Danny Drinkwater. (The Sun)

Meyer set for Palace

Crystal Palace are ready to make a major signing themselves with Max Meyer set to join the club. The 22-year-old midfielder is a free agent after leaving Schalke and Palace have held productive talks with the German. (The Guardian)

PSG still keen on Kante

The Evening Standard reported yesterday that midfielder N’Golo Kante is set to sign a new £290,000-a-week deal at Chelsea. But according to today’s Daily Mirror Paris Saint-Germain are still keen on the French World Cup winner.

Digne to have Everton medical

Everton look set to sign Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne after it was reported that the Frenchman was due to have a medical on Merseyside. The Toffees are also still keen on Digne’s Barcelona teammate Yerry Mina. (Sky Sports)

Denis Cheryshev: Villarreal to Everton

Liverpool to sell Karius and Mignolet

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is “open to the idea” of selling goalkeepers Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet after signing Brazil international Alisson this summer. Karius is a target for German side Bayer Leverkusen and Mignolet has been linked with Barcelona and Besiktas. (The Daily Telegraph
