Paul Pogba: Manchester United to Barcelona

Manchester United have rejected a players-plus-cash offer from Barcelona for World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba, Sky Sports reports.

The Catalans have bid £45m for Pogba with defender Yerry Mina and midfielder Andre Gomes included in the deal. But United “apparently have no desire to part with Pogba”, says Sky.

However, United’s chances of keeping the 25-year-old look slim as his relationship with boss Jose Mourinho has become strained. The Daily Mail adds that agent Mino Raiola is plotting the “sensational” move for his client by touting Pogba to the Spanish giants.

United’s search for a new central defender sees them once again linked with Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld. It’s reported that the Red Devils have made a “take it or leave it” £40m final bid for the 29-year-old Belgium international. (Daily Mirror)

With Thibaut Courtois looking likely to leave for Real Madrid before the transfer deadline on Thursday, Chelsea will quickly need to find a new keeper. Everton have pulled off a “major coup” with the signing of Brazilian forward Bernard on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk. Victor Wanyama: Tottenham to Roma

Spurs are yet to make any signings this summer but one player who could be set for the exit is midfielder Victor Wanyama. The Kenyan international is a shock target for Italian giants Roma. (Daily Mirror)

Peter Crouch: Stoke City to Burnley

Stoke’s former England striker Peter Crouch remains a target for Burnley. Crouch, who is valued at £500,000, is back on Burnley’s radar after the Clarets had a bid turned down for West Brom’s Jay Rodriguez. (The Sun)
