Harry Kane: Tottenham to Real Madrid

Real Madrid have lacked fire in front of goal since Cristiano Ronaldo left the Champions League holders for Juventus this summer - so who could they bring in to solve the problem?

According to ESPN, citing Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the answer may be Tottenham striker Harry Kane. Real president Florentino Perez is “ready to make a move” to sign Kane in January “should Spurs fail to reach the Champions League’s knockout stages”, the sports news site says.

Julen Lopetegui’s Real side have not scored in their past three games and could do with some of the magic of England skipper Kane, the World Cup golden boot winner.

Zidane wanted United trio at Real

Zinedine Zidane is being linked with the manager’s position at Manchester United, but had he stayed at Real Madrid, three Old Trafford stars could well have joined him in Spain. As former head coach of Real, Zidane is said to have been keen on signing United stars David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial. But after winning a third Champions League in a row, Zidane quit Real at the end of May and is now in line to replace Jose Mourinho should the United boss quit or be fired. Hirving Lozano: PSV Eindhoven to Tottenham

Spurs failed to make any signings in the summer transfer window, but the north London club are today being linked with one of the stars from the World Cup. PSV Eindhoven’s £25m-rated winger Hirving Lozano, a Mexico international, has “caught the attention of Tottenham’s scouts”. PSV and Spurs are in the same Champions League group. (Daily Mirror)

Ever Banega: Sevilla to Arsenal

Arsenal boss Unai Emery will be in the market for a new midfielder as Aaron Ramsey prepares to leave the club next year. And on Emery’s target list once again is Sevilla star Ever Banega. The 30-year-old Argentine is a player who Emery knows well, having previously managed him at the La Liga club. (Daily Mirror)

Gunners eye Marotta

Arsenal are also looking to make a key signing off the pitch. The Gunners are “trying to secure the services” of Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta. He is leaving the Italian champions and is also a target for Inter Milan. (BBC via Tuttosport)

Andreas Granqvist: Helsingborgs to Manchester United

Swedish international Andreas Granqvist says United’s interest in him is “incredibly flattering”. The Red Devils are looking at defensive options, and 33-year-old Granqvist could fit the bill, for the short-term, at least. (Daily Star)

Jake Clarke-Salter: Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund already have one highly rated English youngster on their books, and now it looks like they could be after another. According to reports, the German side want Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter to join Jadon Sancho in the Bundesliga. Clarke-Salter, 21, is currently on loan at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem. (The Sun)

Zabaleta keen on move to Italy

West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta is still keen to play in Italy, having been persuaded not to join Roma by boss Pep Guardiola while at Manchester City. The Argentine full-back’s West Ham contract expires at the end of this season and he said: “I came close to joining Roma in the past. They offered me a three-year contract and I thought that could be a positive experience for me. However, Guardiola took over at Manchester City and he told me that he needed me to stay, so in the end I didn’t join Roma. It’s a decision I took with my heart, even though I’ve always thought that I’d like to play in Italy one day.” (Sky Sports)
