Le Roy: Mane could play for Barcelona or Real
Liverpool striker Sadio Mane has the talent to play for any of the world’s top teams, according to Togo coach Claude Le Roy.
Senegal international Mane has impressed at Anfield since joining from Southampton in 2016 and is now part of a world-class attacking trio alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Quoted by the Daily Star, Le Roy said: “He’s a great player. He’d have his place at Manchester United, at Barcelona, or at Real Madrid.”
Icardi happy at Inter
Mauro Icardi has this week been linked with a move to Chelsea but the Argentine striker says he has no plans to leave Inter Milan. As well as Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also reportedly interested in the 25-year-old. Reacting to the rumours, Icardi said: “I do not know if everything that is published is true. I always say that I am very good with my family at Inter, I have no intention of leaving. Offers came in the summer but I have neither the need nor the desire to leave.” (AS)
Antoine Griezmann: Atletico Madrid to PSG
Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a big-money move for Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann. The French World Cup winner, previously a target for Manchester United and Real Madrid, signed a new five-year deal with Atletico in June. However it’s reported that PSG are willing to pay the £133m release clause and his annual salary of £31m. Alonso signs new Blues deal
The Daily Telegraph reports that Spanish left-back Marcos Alonso has signed a new contract with Chelsea that will see him stay at Stamford Bridge until 2023. Alonso’s fellow defender Antonio Rudiger is also in line for a new deal, says the Daily Mail, with Chelsea planning to offer the German improved terms.
