Premier League transfer news: Anthony Martial, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gareth Bale

Inter Milan target Man Utd ace Martial while Zlatan rules out loan move to Europe

Premier League transfer news and rumours

Inter target United star Martial

Inter Milan hope to take advantage of Anthony Martial’s contract stand-off at Manchester United.

The French striker’s Old Trafford contract expires in the summer, the Daily Mirror reports, and United have an option to extend his deal by a further year. But new terms have not yet been agreed between the two parties.

Martial’s form this season – he has five goals in his last five Premier League matches – has attracted the attention of a number of clubs. The Daily Mail says that Serie A side Inter are keen on the 22-year-old and ready to pounce.

No loan move for Zlatan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ruled out a loan move to Europe in January. The LA Galaxy striker had been linked with Manchester United and AC Milan but says he wants to stay in the US during Major League Soccer’s off-season. The 37-year-old Swede said: “If I belong to Galaxy, I am a Galaxy player. I don’t go abroad and do these things... I mean if I belong to one club, I stay in one club.” (Sky Sports

Will Bale leave Real?

Real Madrid may finally be “ready to cash in on Gareth Bale”, The Guardian reports. The Welsh star is linked, once again, with a move to Manchester United.

West Ham eye Loftus-Cheek loan

The Daily Mail reports that West Ham United are “ready to test Chelsea’s resolve” over a loan move for England midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The Hammers are interested in signing the 22-year-old on loan in January but the Daily Mirror says Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has “slammed the door” on a potential switch.

Burnley want Rodriguez reunion

Burnley “remain interested” in bringing Jay Rodriguez back to the club in January. The West Brom forward, who is 29, scored 31 goals in 105 games for Burnley from 2007 to 2012. (Sky Sports)

Redknapp: Rice could replace Fernandinho at City

Jamie Redknapp believes that 19-year-old West Ham United star Declan Rice would be an ideal replacement for Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho. Writing in the Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “Rice has all the hallmarks of Fernandinho, the anchorman of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City midfield. The Brazilian is still performing at the peak of his powers but given he is 33, City will be on the lookout for a long-term replacement. I would not be surprised if Rice is already on their radar.”
