United will reject Pogba bids

Despite his alleged rift with manager Jose Mourinho Manchester United star Paul Pogba won’t be sold in the January transfer window.

The French World Cup winner has been linked with former club Juventus and Spanish giants Barcelona but the Daily Mail reports that the Red Devils will reject any new year bids.

According to the Mail United chiefs “still see a bright future for him at Old Trafford” and want to keep their “marquee player”. 

Juve in for Neves

If Italian champions Juventus don’t get Paul Pogba could they turn their attention to Ruben Neves? The Portuguese midfielder has starred for Wolves since their promotion to the Premier League and Juve could line up a bid for the 21-year-old in January. (Calciomercato

Rashford instead of Ibra?

Sky Sports reports that AC Milan were in talks to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic on loan from LA Galaxy but the deal has collapsed. Milan are keen on a new striker and ESPN, citing a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, says that Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has emerged as a candidate. 

Toon eye Almiron

Miguel Almiron’s father has revealed that Newcastle United are favourites to sign the Atlanta United star. Paraguay attacking midfielder Almiron scored 13 goals as Atlanta won the MLS Cup. (Newcastle Chronicle)

Romanian international Dennis Man is a target for Manchester United and Tottenham. This season the 20-year-old has scored seven goals from midfield for his side FCSB. (The Sun)

New Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri wants a reunion with Leicester City striker Islam Slimani in January. Ranieri signed the Algerian for Leicester for a £29m fee in 2016 - a club record for the Foxes. (The Daily Telegraph

De Jong and De Ligt were recommended to United

Manchester United’s former head of youth recruitment Derek Langley has revealed that the club missed out on signing Dutch stars Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt. United were recommended the youngsters before they made their first-team debuts with Ajax. Both De Jong, 21, and De Ligt, 19, are expected to make big-money moves in 2019. (Manchester Evening News)
