Mauricio Pochettino: Chelsea could move for Tottenham manager

Argentine has also been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid

Chelsea have reportedly joined Manchester United and Real Madrid in the pursuit of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Daily Express says that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is “already under pressure” just six months after moving to Stamford Bridge and the Blues could try and tempt Spurs maestro Pochettino across London.

It’s claimed that Italian Sarri has received text messages from Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich warning him that he could be fired if the Blues do not qualify for next season’s Uefa Champions League.

Pochettino was previously linked with Old Trafford as a candidate to become Man Utd’s next permanent manager. However, caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains favourite to land the job after leading the Red Devils on an unbeaten run since his arrival.

Real Madrid are currently third in La Liga, eight points behind leaders Barcelona. After a poor start to the season Santiago Solari replaced Julen Lopetegui as head coach at the Bernabeu.

The Sun says that if the opportunity arose to get Pochettino Madrid president Florentino Perez “would surely grab it with both hands”.
