Real Madrid are keen to offload Gareth Bale but the Welsh international won’t come cheap for interested clubs.

According to The Sun, the Spanish giants have put a “£131m price tag” on the 29-year-old and the club’s president, Florentino Perez, is confident there will be takers.

Manchester United have long been linked with a move for the former Tottenham forward. According to reports earlier in the week in the Daily Express, Chelsea are also known to be interested. But it’s claimed that Bale would apparently prefer to try his luck at Old Trafford.

The Spanish TV network Telemadrid says that Real Madrid have decided the time is right to offload Bale, given his age, injury record and the emergence this season of young Brazilian star Vinicius Junior.

United on red alert

As a result Man Utd are on “red alert” for a player who has come in for criticism again this season.

The Sun says that Bale’s perceived “lack of effort to integrate at the club and to life in the Spanish capital” is the source of Madrid’s angst. The general feeling is that this season should be his last in La Liga.

Sancho’s price

United will get their hands on Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer on one condition – that they qualify for next season’s Champions League.

That’s the claim in the Daily Express which reports that the 18-year-old is the Red Devils’ “top target” for next season.

The teenage sensation quit Manchester City in 2017 because of limited first-team opportunities but has impressed at Dortmund, even winning an England call-up. He won’t come cheap, however. The Express says that United will have to pay “in excess of £100m” to secure a deal.

Missing Militao

The Daily Mirror, which has been reading the Spanish newspaper Marca, says that United are “losing the race” to land Eder Militao.

The 21-year-old Porto defender was linked to Old Trafford last month but apparently Real Madrid are close to tying up a deal for the Brazilian. An announcement is expected imminently.

De Gea deal close

ESPN claims that United are hopeful of reaching an agreement with David de Gea about a new long-term deal that could see the goalkeeper earn £350,000 a week.

The broadcaster says there are concerns that agents’ fees are “driving up the price of the deal”, but nonetheless the club is cautiously optimistic that talks will soon be concluded to everyone’s satisfaction.

Assuming they are, the 28-year-old Spanish No.1 will be pocketing a weekly wage of £350,000-a-week, which works out at more than £90m over five years.
