Amazon Prime Day 2018: tech and gaming deals on laptops, TVs and Echo dot

From gaming computers to smart speakers, the retail giant’s day of sales is a tech lover’s dream

The Amazon Prime Day flash sale is officially under way and there are some big savings to be had on gadgets and tech.

It’s the fourth time the online retail giant has held its mid-year day of discounts, and 2018 is on course to be its biggest year yet. This is because Amazon has added a number of new territories to Prime Day, including Australia, Singapore and Luxembourg.

Only members of the £7.99 per month Amazon Prime service are eligible for the discounts, but there is a way for non-subscribers to grab a bargain.

Amazon offers a free 30-day trial to those who haven’t subscribed in the past. However, you will need to unsubscribe before the period ends, otherwise payment for a full subscription will be taken from your account.

Prime Day runs until 11.59pm (UK time) on 17 July, so here are the some of the best deals for tech lovers:

  • 50% off Echo Show, Amazon’s smart speaker with integrated touchscreen display, bringing its price down to £99.
