Quiz of The Week: 21 - 27 March 2020

Have you been paying attention to The Week’s news?

The past week has seen Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing a nationwide lockdown in bid to curb the coronavirus outbreak in the UK - before himself testing positive for the infection.

In other measures to tackle the pandemic and its effects, Chancellor Rishi Sunak unveiled a package of financial aid for self-employed workers and 80% wage subsidies for staff kept on by their employers.

The government has also announced that coronavirus home-testing kits are soon to become available both to healthcare workers and the general public in the UK. The “game changing” fingerprick tests can detect whether a person has had the virus and is therefore likely to have some immunity.

The encouraging news came as a 21-year-old woman from Buckinghamshire with no underlying health conditions died after contracting the Covid-19 coronavirus. The death of Chloe Middleton was announced by her family, who have called for people to “please, please adhere to government rules” and stay at home.

As the coronavirus crisis continues to unfold, keep yourself busy during the lockdown by testing how closely you’ve been monitoring the latest global events with our Quiz of The Week.
