Quiz of The Week: 1 - 7 August

Have you been paying attention to The Week’s news?

From waging war on teenagers to being accused of threatening the union, Donald Trump has had a busy week.

With coronavirus ravaging America and an investigation over his financial records now underway, it may seem like a rather inopportune time for Trump to start a protracted legal battle with a Chinese lip-syncing app, but the president is nothing if not unpredictable.

Elsewhere, thousands of Brits filled up restaurants, and their plates, following the launch of the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which runs Monday to Wednesday throughout August and gives diners a 50% discount.

An investigation has begun into the devastating explosion which killed more than 100 people and injured thousands in Beirut’s port on Tuesday.

It was revealed that at the height Britain’s coronavirus outbreak, the government bought 43.5 million unusable face masks with elastic ear-loops rather than straps which fasten behind the head.

New research suggests that even mild cases of coronavirus can have long lasting impacts on the lungs, brain and heart, and can cause psychosis, fatigue and loss of eyesight.

And a couple who claim they witnessed government adviser Dominic Cummings during a second coronavirus lockdown trip have complained to the police watchdog saying the allegation was not properly investigated.
