A Russian synchronised swimmer takes part in the team event at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre. Day 13 at the Rio Games saw Team GB claim three more golds, with Alistair Brownlee beat his brother Jonny into second in the men's triathlon, Jade Jones retain her taekwondo crown and sailors Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark confirmed as winners.

Sunday 14 August:
Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt strikes a familiar pose after becoming the first man to win three Olympic 100m titles in a row. His victory capped a remarkable day on which Team GB claimed five gold medals in gymnastics, tennis, golf and cycling and South African Wayde van Niekerk set a new 400m world record.

Saturday 13 August
An exhausted Mo Farah sinks to his knees after retaining his Olympic 10,000m title in a dramatic race at the Rio Games. The British athlete fell after being accidentally tripped during the race, but dusted himself off to win after taking the lead in the final stages. Elsewhere on Saturday, Greg Rutherford came third in the long jump and Jessica Ennis had to settle for silver in the heptathlon.

ailing competition below Sugarloaf Mountain on day six of the Rio Olympics. Team GB claimed a fourth gold of the games as the track cyling began, with the men's team sprint beating New Zealand in the final. British rower Katherine Grainger won silver to become Team GB's most decorated female Olympian with five medals.

Monday 8 August: Charles Correa and Anderson Oliveira of Brazil compete in the men's canoe double slalom event on day three of the Rio Olympics. There was more success for Team GB with bronze medals for divers Tom Daley and Daniel Goodfellow and shooter Ed Ling, but the men's gymnastics and women's rugby sevens teams both missed out on medals as they finished fourth.

Sunday 7 August: Adam Peaty of Team GB on his way to gold in the men's 100m breast stroke final at Rio. Having broken the world record in the heats, the English swimmer broke it again in the final. He is the first British man to win an Olympic swimming gold since Adrian Moorhouse in the same event in 1988.
