HTC U11 comes with three voice assistants
Squeezy handset will feature Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and company's own Sense Companion
HTC's U11 smartphone will be available with three different voice assistants when it launches next month.
Unveiling their new flagship handset today, the company announced the U11 will ship with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and HTC's own system, Sense Companion, which remembers daily habits to help the user with those activities autonomously. It will, for example, remind the user to charge their phone's battery if they have a long day ahead or provide a fitness report following a workout.
Users can pair Sense Companion with either Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, says The Independent, or have all three of them activated at the same time.
HTC also revealed users will be able to activate certain features of the U11 by simply squeezing the device.
According to Alphr, the squeeze function "consists of a series of pressure sensors built into the lower half of the frame of the phone" which allow users to "launch apps from the lock screen and carry out various actions within those apps".
However, adds the site, while it will make accessing the camera easier, a squeezy element isn't "something rival manufacturers will be chomping at the bit to build into their next handset".
Pre-orders for the U11 are open now, with prices starting at £649. The first batch of orders will begin shipping on 1 June.
Buyers will be able to choose from five different colour schemes, says TechRadar, "Amazing Silver, Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue and Ice White."
