Billionaire son's dogged devotion to pet Coco

The son of Chinese real estate billionaire Wang Jianlin has reportedly shelled out more than £7,300 to buy eight new Apple iPhone 7 handsets for his dog, Coco. Wang Sicong posted images online showing his pet posing with the new phones. It's not the first time he has publicly showered Coco with expensive tech gifts - in 2015, he posted photos of her wearing two Apple Watches with luxury bands, worth an estimated £18,500.

Goalie arrested after conceding 43 goals

German goalkeeper Marco Kwiotek has been arrested at training, just days after his SV Volderort side's record-breaking 43-0 loss to rivals PSV Oberhausen. The club says it has not been able to get in touch with him for a number of days and police are yet to make a statement about the arrest. During the match, SV Volderort were reduced to eight players, prompting their rivals to remove some of their players to even up the numbers after the score reached 35-0. 

Canadian Mint employee 'smuggled gold in his rectum'

An employee at the Canadian Mint has been charged with a number of offences after he was accused of smuggling gold out of the facility up his bottom. Leston Lawrence, 35, was arrested after a bank worker noticed he was cashing a large number of cheques from a local gold-buying company and that he worked at the Mint. An audit revealed gold worth more than £100,000 had been stolen.
